Políticas públicas para esporte e lazer: para além do calendário de eventos esportivos / Public policies in sport and leisure: beyond the schedule of sporting events

RESUMO

Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir as políticas públicas para esporte e lazer nos municípios que compõem a Região Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados coletados demonstram que na maioria dos municípios organizam-se calendários de eventos esportivos competitivos, em poucas modalidades esportivas, quase exclusivamente para homens. Poucos municípios da região possuem um setor encarregado de ser o gestor de esporte e lazer, bem como apresentam carência em termos de recursos humanos qualificados para desempenhar a função. Entende-se que é necessária a organização junto ao setor público do órgão encarregado de ser o gestor e o articulador da participação da comunidade na definição das políticas públicas em esporte e lazer.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to discuss public policies in sport and leisure in the counties that comprise the Northwest Region / RS. The collected data show that in most municipalities are organized calendars of competitive sports events in a few sports, almost exclusively for men. Just a few cities in the region have the section in charge of being the manager in sport and leisure, as well, present shortage in skilled human resources to perform the function. It is understood that is necessary the organization by the public agency in charge of being the manager and articulator of community participation in the definition of the public policies about sport and leisure.
