Representações maternas de mães adultas: relato clínico a partir da Entrevista R / Maternal representations of adult mothers: clinical report using Interview R

RESUMO

As representações maternas englobam expectativas, fantasias e desejos da mãe sobre o bebê e exercem grande influência nessa relação. Este trabalho apresenta o relato de uma experiência clínica na qual foi feita uma análise dessas representações em mães adultas, a partir da utilização da Entrevista R (Stern et al., 1989). Três mães (26 a 31 anos), cujos bebês tinham entre três e seis meses de idade, responderam a entrevista. Foram analisadas as representações dessas mulheres sobre si mesmas, sobre o bebê e sobre a própria mãe. As informações obtidas revelaram que as representações sobre a própria mãe influenciaram no modelo materno dessas mães. Também foi demonstrada a identificação das mães com seus bebês a partir das representações sobre a criança. As representações sobre si mesmas mostraram diferentes percepções e sentimentos como mãe e pessoa. Destaca-se que a análise das representações maternas a partir da Entrevista R possibilitou um mapeamento do mundo representacional das mães, o que não exclui a utilização de outros instrumentos para tal fim.

ABSTRACT

Maternal representations include the mother’s expectations, fantasies and desires about the baby, and have great influence on this relationship. This study presents the report of a clinical experience in which these representations in adult mothers were analyzed, using Interview R (Stern et al., 1989). Three mothers (ages ranging from 26 to 31), whose babies were between three and six months old, answered the interview. Representations of these women about themselves, about the baby and their own mother were analyzed. The information obtained showed that the representations about their own mothers influenced the maternal model of these mothers. The identification of mothers with their babies was also demonstrated from representations about the child. Representations about themselves showed different perceptions and feelings as a mother and a person. It’s important to emphasize that the analysis of maternal representations using Interview R enabled a mapping of the mothers’ representational world, which does not exclude the use of other instruments for this purpose.
