Efectividad del Trabajo Metodológico sobre las habilidades relacionadas con gráficos en la asignatura Fisiología I / Effectiveness of the Methodological Work on the skills related to graphs in the subject Physiology I

RESUMEN

El bajo nivel de entrada de los alumnos en relación con las habilidades de interpretación y representación de gráficos de variables asociadas a funciones biológicas y sus regulaciones por demás objetivo de la Fisiología I, motivó a realizar el presente trabajo con el propósito de valorar la efectividad de la actividad metodológica del colectivo en esa dirección. Se realizó a estudiantes de 1er. año de Medicina una prueba para diagnosticar la habilidad de interpretación de gráficos en la primera clase de la asignatura. Se diseñó un trabajo metodológico orientado a la ejercitación de gráficos y se evaluó una pregunta de identificación de gráficos en la primera prueba intrasemestral, otra de construcción en la segunda, y de ambos tipos en las tarjetas de examen final oral. Al comparar los rendimientos docentes obtenidos durante el semestre con relación a la prueba diagnóstica se apreció una tendencia a mejorar tanto en la interpretación como en la construcción de gráficos.

ABSTRACT

The poor level of students on entering the Medical Faculty as regards the abilities for interpreting and representing graphs of variables associated with biological functions and their regulations, which is an objective os Physiology I, led the authors to write this paper aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the methodological activity of the group in that sense. A test was made among lst-year medical students to diagnose their ability to interpret graphs in the first class of this subject. A methodological work was designed for exercising graphs. A question to idenfity graphs was evaluated in the first intrasemestral test, whereas a question to construct graphs was included in the second test. Students had to answer both types of questions in the final oral test. On comparing the results obtained during the first semester with the diagnostic test, it was observed a trend to improve in the interpretation and construction of graphs.
