¿Por qué se constituyó una Comisión Nacional de Ética y Bioética en Enfermería? / Why it was constituted a National Commission of Ethics and Bioética in Infirmary

RESUMEN

Se recoge el testimonio de las fundadoras de la Comisión Nacional de Ética en Enfermería, quienes aportan toda la información acerca del proceso de formación de la Comisión, sus objetivos y perspectivas inmediatas y mediatas. El trabajo fue presentado en el I Encuentro-Taller que realizaron las Cátedras de Bioética del Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana, en 1996, el cual resultó de gran interés para los participantes, entre quienes se encontraban médicos, estomatólogos, filósofos, psicólogos, sociólogos, juristas y pedagogos. Llamó la atención la temprana visión acerca del tema de las enfermeras cubanas, su Dirección Nacional y la Sociedad Cubana de Enfermería, que en momentos tan tempranos como esa fecha, decidieran prestar todo el apoyo logístico y moral a esta disciplina humanística tan importante en el desarrollo profesional, especialmente en la competencia y el desempeño(AU)

ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the personal experiences of the founders of the National Commission of Nursing Ethics. All the information given by them about the setting-up of the Commission, its objectives and immediate and mediate prospects are included here. This paper was submitted to the I Meeting-Workshop organized by the Professorships of Bioethics of the Higher Institue of Medical Sciences of Havana, in 1996. This meeting was of great interest for the participants, among whom there were physicians, stomatologists, philosophers, psychologists, sociologists, lawyers and pedagogists. The early view about the topic of Cuban nurses and the role played by their National Division and the Cuban Nursing Society that at that time decided to give all the logistic and moral support to this humanistic discipline so important for professional development and, specially, for competence and performance, attracted our attention(AU)
