RESUMEN
Se estudiaron prospectivamente 13 embarazadas con el antecedente de abortos espontáneos mayores de 13 semanas o partos prematuros, en el período 1985-1987. Se distribuyeron al azar: a 43 no se les realizó cerclaje (GSC), y a 30, sí (GCC). Se compararon con una población control constituída por embarazadas sin abortos ni partos prematuros. Se investigó y trató la infección génito-urinaria (IGU) durante la gestación
