RESUMEN

Introducción: La vida del bebé se inicia antes de su concepción, y se va construyendo en relación con su entorno. La primera idea de persona es el cuerpo, en éste se ancla la vida psíquica y se va haciendo complejo en un ir y venir entre él y los que lo rodean. Las fantasías previas de los padres, las pulsiones del bebé, los encuentros y los desencuentros entre el bebé y la madre y el padre, y luego los demás, las necesidades y las frustraciones… En fin, un sinnúmero de sucesos van moldeando un psiquismo que, incipiente, evoluciona de forma sorprendente. Objetivo: Mostrar, a la luz de la observación de bebés, la teoría del desarrollo y, con esta correlación, la importancia de ser conscientes de lo que acontece en este período. Método: El estudio se inició con la revisión de la teoría concerniente al desarrollo del self y prosiguió con el de las relaciones de objeto; en un segundo momento, esta teoría se materializó con la observación directa de los bebés y las supervisiones. Resultados: El desarrollo del bebé y la integración psique-soma son el producto de un interjuego continuo entre los mundos interno y el externo, con diversos matices. Conclusiones: La observación de bebés resulta una oportunidad de gran valor para la comprensión del desarrollo sano y de las posibles etiologías tempranas de sufrimientos que permiten intervenciones oportunas y, más aún, sensibiliza en la necesidad de prevenir.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The baby's life starts before its conception, and it grows in direct relation with the surrounding environment. The first idea of a person is the body; it is within the body that the psyche sets it's roots and it becomes complex in a continuous back and forth exchange between the baby and its caregivers. Previous parental fantasies, the baby's instincts, encounters and disencounters between the baby and its mother and father, and then with other people, its needs, desires and frustrations… well, a vast number of events give shape to his psyche which, incipiently, evolves surprisingly. Objective: To show, through the observation of babies, the developmental theory, and with this correlation, to visualize the importance of being aware of happenings taking place during this period of life. Method: The study started by reviewing the structure of the self theory and continued with the object relation theory. Subsequently, this theory was materialized through direct observation of the babies and supervisions Results: The baby's development, the integration between its psyche and soma, is the result of a continuous inter-play between the inner and outer worlds, with various shades. Conclusions: The observation of babies gives a valuable opportunity to understand the healthy development, possible early etiologies of suffering, enabling timely interventions and furthermore and sensitizing us to the need of prevention.
