ABSTRACT
This study has the purpose of approaching the anthropometric parameters of the foot and outstanding the importance of fabrication of shoes with different profiles for each numeration. Though the shoes can be fabricated with more specific characteristics of Brazilian population, and consequently it will contribute for the individual standards of comfort and health. The sample for this study was composed of 1.296 women with ages between 18 and 60 years old, all of them permanently or temporarily resident in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. To measure the variables perimeters, widths and heigths, it was used the classic anthropometric method, in wich the perimeters were measured with a fiberglass tape, the heights were measure the lengths, it was used the indirect method (images). All those variables were mesured on the rigth and the left feet. When the relation between the metatarsus top perimeter and the foot length were verified, those variables, wich are continuous, were transformed into tactful variables (intervals) in accordance with the french numeration system. Through the analysis of the results we can conclude that the largest concentration was the interval of foot length measuring 233.3 mm to 246.6 mm, and the most common was the interval of foot length measuring 233.3 mm (24%), and the largest concentration for top metatarsus perimeter was in the interval measuring 225 mm to 245 mm for both feet. The Brazilian sample shows a larger foot lfrontal shaping (perimeters and widths), comparing to the foreigner samples, being related to the large incidence of people who mentioned discomfort in the foot frontal shaping pave the numeration corresponding to the foot length. We verifyed a large variability between the sample pave the numeration corresponding to the foot length...
