RESUMO
OBJETIVO:
Esse estudo objetivou descrever a assistência à saúde do idoso nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (USFs) no município de João Pessoa, segundo o depoimento dos usuários.METODOLOGIA:
Utilizou-se de um desenho de investigação do tipo observacional seccional, tendo como unidade de observação o indivíduo, em uma amostra de 109 indivíduos pertencentes ao Distrito Sanitário III. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi um questionário contendo perguntas gerais e específicas sobre a assistência de saúde no nível primário de atenção e a coleta se deu por meio de entrevista semi-estruturada. Os dados foram analisados de forma qualitativa, por intermédio da técnica de análise de conteúdo.RESULTADOS:
A maioria dos entrevistados foi do sexo feminino (79,8%), com faixa etária de 66 76 anos (54,2%), ESCOLARIDADE ensino fundamental (76,2%) e renda familiar de 1 a 3 salários (55%). O estudo demonstrou existir uma preocupação do município em oferecer assistência de qualidade à população idosa, incluindo desde o atendimento médico às atividades de socialização e lazer, entretanto, a atenção básica ainda está ineficiente.CONCLUSÃO:
Dentre os principais achados da pesquisa encontraram-se o não alcance das necessidades e demandas de saúde da população idosa, a relação positiva entre as atividades oferecidas na USF e o conhecimento dos idosos sobre os serviços oferecidos e a utilização da atenção básica como porta de entrada aos serviços de saúdeABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
To describe elderly's health care by Family Health Units (FHUs) in the city of João Pessoa, according to users' reports.METHODS:
To this end, we adopted a sectional observational research design and considered the individual as observation unit. Accordingly, the sample consisted of 109 individuals belonging to the Health District III. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire containing general questions and specific information about health care in primary care. Gathering was performed through semistructured interview. Data were analyzed qualitatively by means of the content analysis technique.RESULTS:
Most respondents were female (79.8%), aged 66 to 76 (54.2%), education primary education (76.2%) whose family income wages ranged from 1 to 3 (55%). The study showed there is a concern of the municipality in providing quality of care to the elderly population, encompassing since medical appointments to socialization and recreation activities. Nevertheless, primary care was found to be still inefficient.CONCLUSION:
Among the main findings of this study are the non-resolution of health needs and demands of the elderly population; the positive relationship between the activities provided by the FHU and the knowledge of the elderly about the services offered, as well as and the use of primary care as the gateway to health services
