Violencia contra la mujer en la comunidad / Violence against the woman in the community

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal de 1 128 mujeres que fueron víctimas de algún tipo de violencia intrafamiliar, pertenecientes al Grupo Básico de Trabajo No. 2 del Policlínico Docente "Ramón López Peña" (Consejo Popular Veguita de Galo), desde mayo del 2008 hasta agosto del 2010, con vistas a caracterizarles según algunos aspectos biopsicosociales relevantes de este problema de salud. La recolección del dato primario se efectuó mediante la entrevista anónima y entre las variables evaluadas estuvieron escolaridad, ocupación, estado conyugal y funcionalidad familiar. Se obtuvo un predominio del bajo nivel instructivo, la ocupación de ama de casa, las familias disfuncionales y la violencia psicológica infligida por los esposos, de lo cual se infirió que el problema estaba presente en un número no despreciable de féminas de esta área sanitaria y en consecuencia debía ser atendido diferenciadamente por las organizaciones de mujeres y las autoridades de salud.

ABSTRACT

A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 1 128 women who were victims of some type of family violence, belonging to the Basic Work Group No. 2 of "Ramón López Peña" Teaching Polyclinic (Veguita de Galo People´s Council) was carried out from May, 2008 to August, 2010, with the aim of characterizing them according to some relevant biopsychosocial aspects related with this health problem. The gathering of the primary data took place through the anonymous interview and among the evaluated variables there were school level, occupation, marital status and family functionality. A primacy of low educational level, housewives, disfunctional families and the psychological violence committed by the husbands was obtained, from what it was concluded that the problem was present in a significant number of females of this health area and in consequence it should be treated diferently by the women´s organizations and the health authorities.
