Histeria de conversão: algumas questões sobre o corpo na psicanálise / Conversion hysteria: some questions about the body in psycho-analysis

RESUMO

O trabalho resgata a importância histórica da noção de histeria de conversão indicando sua atualidade na clínica. Tomando como referência os textos freudianos, o artigo destaca a noção de solicitação somática como ponto teórico fundamental para compreender o mecanismo de conversão do sofrimento psíquico em sofrimento físico. Destaca, ainda, que tal noção antecipa o conceito freudiano de pulsão de morte.

ABSTRACT

This paper recovers the historical significance of the conversion hysteria notion, indicating its present day usefulness in psychoanalytical practice. By using Freudian writings as reference it highlights the notion of somatic compliance as being fundamental in the comprehension of the mechanism of conversion of psychic pain into physical pain. Moreover, it also shows that such notion anticipates the Freudian concept of death instinct.
