RESUMO

O envelhecimento da população brasileira é hoje uma realidade. Outro fato é que a sexualidade faz parte da natureza e obedece a uma necessidade fisiológica e emocional. Manifesta-se de forma diferente nas fases progressivas do desenvolvimento humano e sua expressão é determinada pela maturidade orgânica e mental. Infelizmente, convivemos em uma sociedade que priva os idosos da possibilidade de pensarem sua sexualidade e a procura de relacionamentos amorosos de forma autônoma e destituída de preconceitos e estereótipos. A capacidade de amar e de exercer práticas sexuais não tem limite cronológico. O limite está no campo psicológico, no preconceito e na intolerância social. Dessa forma, resgatar o direito a uma vida amorosa e sexual na terceira idade implica poder pensar o amor em suas formas de transformação, ou seja, outras formas de amor que passam pela ternura, pelos contatos físicos, a expressão corporal, o olhar, o toque, a voz, redescobrindo as primeiras formas de amor do ser humano. Esse texto se propõe a fazer uma reflexão neste âmbito ao mostrar que independentemente da idade ou das eventuais limitações físicas da terceira idade, os idosos podem ter os mesmos privilégios do exercício da sexualidade quanto qualquer outro segmento da população.

ABSTRACT

The aging of the Brazilian population is today a reality. Another fact is that the sexuality is part of the nature and obeys a physiological and emotional necessity. Manifest itself of different form in the gradual phases of the human development and its expression it is determined by the organic and mental maturity. Unfortunately, we live in a society that deprives them of opportunities for older people think their sexuality and finding love relationships autonomously and devoid of prejudices and stereotypes. The capacity to love and to exercise sexual practices is not limited chronologically. The limit is in the psychological field, prejudice and social bigotry. That way, rescuing the right to love life and sex in old age means being able to think the love in their ways of processing, or other forms of love that pass by the tenderness by physical contact, body expression, the look, the touch, voice, marking the first forms of human love. This text proposes to make a reflection in this context to show that regardless of any age or physical limitations of old age, older people can have the same privileges as the exercise of sexuality as any other segment of the population.
