Futebol e lazer: uma análise sobre o "racismo à brasileira" através dos jogos "preto x branco" / Soccer and leisure: an analisis about "brazilian racism" through "black vs white" games

RESUMO

O artigo analisa o exótico jogo futebol chamado de Preto X Branco que ocorre há 39 anos apenas no período do Natal. Esse jogo ritual é um encontro de amigos que formam duas equipes compostas por jogadores que se autodeclaram "pretos" contra outra dos que se autodeclaram "brancos". Esse espaço de lazer é um ritual que tematiza as relações raciais no Brasil. Foi utilizado como fontes a memória registrada na mídia escrita e televisiva, entrevistas semiestruturadas e a observação participante no evento de 2009. Concluímos que o evento revela o desejo coletivo de integração racial a partir dos temas da raça e do racismo. A celebração da amizade entre amigos "brancos" e "pretos" é uma tentativa de superação do racismo via o humor e a pilhéria do debate racial. Os estereótipos raciais acionados durante esse jogo ritual, talvez, signifique uma forma, mais ou menos consciente, de rir da história das relações raciais no Brasil.

ABSTRACT

The present article analyzes an exotic soccer game named Black x White that occurs for 39 years only in the period of Christmas. This ritual game is a friends gathering who create two teams one composed by players who self declare "blacks" against other team who self declare "whites". This leisure space is a ritual that thematizes the racial relations in Brazil. It was used as sources the registered memory in the written media and television, semi structured interviews and the participant observation in a 2009 event. We conclude that the event reveals the collective desire of racial integration from themes of race and racism. The celebration of friendship between "whites" and "blacks" is an attempt of overcoming the racism through humor and joke of racial debate. The racial stereotypes triggered during this ritual game probably mean a way, more or less conscious, of laughing about the history of racial relations in Brazil.
