A funcionalidade de usuários acometidos por AVE em conformidade com a acessibilidade à reabilitação / The functionality of patients afflicted with EVA according to their access to rehabilitation

RESUMO

O Acidente Vascular Encefálico (AVE) é uma doença crônico-degenerativae representa um desafio tanto pelo impacto social, quanto pelas repercussões na vida das pessoas, pois, quando não letal, o AVE geralmente provoca graves repercussões para o indivíduo, a família e a sociedade. O presente estudo tem como objetivo descrever e analisar a funcionalidade dos usuários com AVE, adscritos na área de cobertura das Equipes de Saúde da Família do município de João Pessoa, em conformidade com o acessibilidade que tenham tido à reabilitação. Trata-se de um estudo transversal de base populacional com amostra de 140 indivíduos com idade acima de 18 anos, acometidos por AVE no período entre os anos de 2006 e 2010. As variáveis descritivas foram aquelas que identificam os sujeitos da amostra e caracterizam o AVE clinicamente. Para avaliar a funcionalidade dos sujeitos utilizou-se o domínio Atividade e participação da Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF). A associação das categorias de atividade e participação com a acessibilidade à reabilitação foi verificada por meio do teste Qui-Quadrado com nível de significância de 5%. Constatou-se maior comprometimento nas categorias Uso fino da mão, Recreação e Lazer, Deslocar-se e Fala no grupo dos participantes que tiveram acessibilidade aos serviços de reabilitação, indicando que a dificuldade nestas atividades provoca no individuo a necessidade de inserção nos serviços destinados a reabilitação. Este estudo demonstrou que a maioria dos pacientes pós-AVE apresenta consequências crônicas em suas funções corporais, predispondo a necessidade de inserção contínua nos serviços de reabilitação para maximizar a funcionalidade nas atividades cotidianas e facilitar a participação social.

ABSTRACT

An Encephalic Vascular Accident (EVA) is a chronic-degenerative disease and represents a challenge not only for its social impact, but also for its repercussions on the life of its victims and, when not lethal, the EVA usually creates serious consequences to the individual, to families, and to society. The present study seeks to describe and analyze the functionality of patients with EVA who are registered within the coverage area of the Family Health Teams in the city of João Pessoa, according to their access to rehabilitation. It is a transversal study with a sample of 140 individuals over 18 years of age, who were afflicted with EVA between the years 2006 and 2010. The descriptive variables were those that identified the sample subjects and characterized the EVA clinically.To evaluate the functionality of the subjects, the Activity and Participationdomains of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability,and Health (ICF) were used. The association of the activity andparticipation categories with the access to rehabilitation was checkedthrough the Chi-Squared test with a 5% level of significance. Greaterimpairment was evidenced in the categories Fine Hand Use, Recreationand Leisure, Mobility, and Speech in the group of participants who had access to rehabilitation services, indicating that the difficulty in these activities creates the need for the individual to be inserted into the rehabilitationservices. This study showed that most post-EVA patients present chronic consequences in their bodily functions, predisposing them to need continuous insertion into the rehabilitation services to maximize their functionality in daily activities and to facilitate their social participation.
