RESUMO
Introdução:
O sucesso de programas de prevenção em Odontopediatria depende da participação da família em consultas regulares ao longo da infância.Objetivos:
Investigar e analisar variáveis de desistência entre participantes de um programa de atenção precoce à saúde. Material emétodo:
Participaram 247 mães desistentes no período de 2004 a 2008. A coleta foi realizada por meio de entrevista, via ligação telefônica. A análise estatística foi realizada por meio da aplicação do teste Qui quadrado (p = 0,05).Resultado:
A maior prevalência de desistências se deu na faixa etária entre 13 e 30 meses (52 porcentagem). A falta de colaboração da criança foi o motivo para a desistência referido com maior frequência pela mãe (47,9 porcentagem). Há uma relação direta entre o nível de colaboração da criança e da mãe.Conclusão:
A implantação de estratégias para melhora do comportamento da criança aumentaria o grau de adesão ao programa.ABSTRACT
Introduction:
The success of prevention programs in pediatric dentistry depends on the family?s participation in regular consultations throughout childhood.Objective:
To investigate and to analyze the variables of desistance among participants of a program of early attention to health. Material andmethod:
The sample was constituted by 247 mothers of desisting children of the program throughout the years of 2004 the 2008. The collection of information on the reasons of the desistances was carried through by means of interview with the mothers, saw linking telephonic. The answers had been categorized and submitted to the descriptive analysis in terms of frequency and percentage. The analysis statistics was carried through by means of the application of the test Qui-square (p = 0.05).Result:
The biggest prevalence of non-compliance occurred in the age group between 13 and 30 months (52 percentage). The lack of cooperation of the child was the main reason for mothers quit the program (47.9 percentage). The results point, still, a direct relation enters the level of contribution of the child and the mother.Conclusion:
The implantation of strategies to improve the behavior of the child would increase the degree of adherence to the program.
