RESUMO
Objetivo - Identificar os sentimentos vividos por mulheres com câncer de mama no processo de adoecimento e as mudanças decorrentes dessa nova realidade, pois, trata-se de uma doença crônica diferenciada, pois, além dos aspectos relacionados ao físico, como dor e mutilações, ela provoca forte impacto psicológico que resulta em sentimentos de várias intensidades e naturezas, como medo, dúvida, angústia, ansiedade e outros. Métodos - Foram entrevistadas 14 mulheres mastectomizadas. Tratou-se de pesquisa qualitativa de caráter descritivo-exploratório e se utilizou da análise conteúdo de Bardin, como técnica de tratamento de dados. Resultados - O estudo do tema possibilitou compreender que, em face da eminência do câncer, essas mulheres experimentam uma série de eventos, desde a incerteza antes do diagnóstico até a nova realidade após o tratamento do câncer, que despertam sentimentos de raiva, insegurança, culpa e medo inclusive da morte e do câncer ser uma doença irremediável. Conclusões - Os depoimentos apresentados deixaram transparecer que o câncer de mama surge com um significado de ameaça à vida e à integridade física e emocional das mulheres, despertando assim uma gama de sentimentos.
ABSTRACT
Objective - To identify the feelings experienced by women with breast cancer in the disease process and the changes resulting from this new reality because it is considered a chronic and differentiated disease, since in addition to the physical aspects such as pain and mutilation, it causes strong psychological impact resulting in feelings of various kinds and intensities, such as fear, doubt, anguish, anxiety, etc. Methods - We interviewed14 women who went through mastectomies. This was a descriptive qualitative, exploratory research and used Bardin's content analysis as a technique for data processing. Results - The study of the subject enabled to understand that, given the imminence of cancer, these women experience a series of events, from the uncertainty before the diagnosis to the new reality after cancer treatment, which arouse feelings of anger, insecurity, guilt and even fear of death and of cancer as an incurable disease. Conclusions - The statements revealed that breast cancer arises as a significant threat to life and physical and emotional integrity of women, thus raising a range of feelings.
