RESUMEN
La tricomicosis es una infección bacteriana del pelo causada por el Corynebacterium flavescens (antes C. tenuis) que afecta más comúnmente el pelo axilar y púbico. Se caracteriza por la presencia de vainas mucoides que rodean el pelo afectado sin romperlo. Se presenta el caso de una niña de nueve años de edad, con tricomicosis que afecta el cuero cabelludo, una localización inusual de esta entidad.
ABSTRACT
Trichomycosis is a bacterial infection of the hair caused by Corynebacterium flavescens (formerly C. tenuis) which affects most commonly the axillary and pubic hair, characterized by thepresence of mucoid sheaths that surround the affected hair withoutbreaking it. The case of a nine year old girl with trichomycosis affecting the scalp hair is reported, an unusual location of this condition.
