RESUMO
O Censo Escolar realizado no Brasil no ano de 2008 localizou 11.617 deficientes físicos matriculados em classes comuns no estado de São Paulo. O uso de recursos de tecnologia assistiva tem trazido benefícios em relação à necessidade de auxílio e de cuidado a essa população. Estudos internacionais apontam que a promoção da independência foi um dos benefícios mais frequentemente citado por pais e por professores. Na literatura nacional, as publicações estão focadas em indicações de recursos que visam favorecer o desempenho escolar da criança com deficiência. Este estudo tem como objetivo apresentar a trajetória do uso de recursos de tecnologia assistiva no âmbito nacional e internacional, focando o contexto escolar e discutindo os conceitos, as práticas e os modelos teóricos que fundamentam esse uso.
ABSTRACT
The Brazilian Scholar Census 2008 identified 11,617 disabled persons enrolled in regular classes in São Paulo state. The use of assistive technology has brought benefits related to the assistance and care needs of this population. International researches indicate that one of the benefits most frequently reported by parents and teachers is the advancement of the independence in students. In national literature, the research is focused on resources that aim at promoting the school performance of disabled children. The objective of this review is to present the historical use of assistive technology resources at national and international references, focusing on the school context and discussing the concepts, approaches and theoretical model that underlie their use.
