RESUMEN
Estudio descriptivo para determinar la prevalencia de Trastornos de la Conducta Alimentaria (TCA) en una población de riesgo y describir las características sociodemográficas y antecedentes de quienes lo padecen. Se aplicó una encuesta de Conducta Alimentaría (ECA) y los cuestionarios de Zung para Ansiedad y Depresión y luego se realizó entrevista semi-estructurada a 58 practicantes de Karate-do de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Se examinaron 21 mujeres y 37 hombres, se demostró la existencia de TCA en el27.6%, discriminados así: 20.6% TCA no especificado (NOES), 5.1% Bulimia Nerviosa (BN) y 1.7% Anorexia Nerviosa (AN). Se hallaron puntajes positivos para ansiedad en el 17% y se hizo diagnóstico de síndrome depresivo en el 29.1%, encontrando una asociación significativa con TCA. Además se observó asociación significativa entre TCA y sobrepeso, realización de dietas, insatisfacción con la imagen corporal, antecedentes familiares de obesidad y ser estudiante de Ciencias de la Salud. Conclusiones: (1) Entre los practicantes de Karate-do se observó una prevalencia de TCA del 25.8%, que es alta si se compara con la población general. (2) Indicadores de vulnerabilidad: tendencia a hacer dietas, sobrevaloración de la crítica, ser estudiante de Ciencias de la Salud, sobrepeso y obesidad familiar. ABSTRACT
Across section descríptive research to determine the prevalence of Eating Behavioural Disorders (EBD) in a population at rísk and to describe the socio demographic characteristics and back ground of those who suffer these disorders. 58 sports people who those practice Karate-do at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia were given the EBD survey and the Zung questionnaries for anxiety and depression. A semistructured interview was held after wards. 21 women and 37 men were examined. 27.6% of these people were found to have EBD, discríminated as follows: 20.6% had EBD Not Other wise Especified (NOS), 5.1% Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and 1.7% Anorexia Nervosa (AN). 17% of those interviewed has positive scores for anxiety. Depressive syndrome was diagnosedin 29.1 % ofthem with a significant association with EBD. There was a/so a significant association betwenn EBD and owerweight, dieting, unsatisfactory body image, background of obesity in the family and being a student in the Health áreas. Conclusions: (1) A prevalence of 25.8% of EBD was observed among the sport people who practice Karate-do, which tumsoutto be ratherhigh when compared with the figures for the general population. Among the vulnerability indicators found there are: tendency to dieting, overestimation of criticism, being a health área student, overheight and familiar obesity.
