RESUMO
O abuso sexual infantil é fenômeno recorrente em todas as sociedades e traz para suas vítimas inúmeras consequências danosas, tanto a longo quanto a curto prazo. Nesse sentido, intervenções psicoterápicas são realmente imprescindíveis. Este estudo visa a analisar, a partir da literatura consultada, as evidências da efetividade de diversas abordagens psicoterápicas no tratamento de vítimas de abuso sexual infantil. Mais destaque é dado às terapias cognitivas, indicando suas vantagens e estudos que demonstram essa perspectiva. Conclui-se que, de modo geral, todas as abordagens psicoterápicas são benéficas, no entanto, existem evidências acerca da efetividade das terapias cognitivas para o tratamento desses pacientes. Finalmente, são dadas diretrizes para a elaboração de futuras pesquisas.
ABSTRACT
Child sexual abuse is a recurring phenomenon in every society. It causes several short and long-term damages to the victims. Therefore, psychotherapeutic interventions are indispensable. This paper aims to analyze how the literature reports on evidences of the efficiency of several psychotherapeutic approaches to the treatment of child sexual abuse. The cognitive therapies are portrayed with more emphasis, especially regarding its advantages and studies reporting on this approach. As a conclusion, all psychotherapeutic approaches have been in general reported as beneficial; however, there is strong evidence of the effectiveness of the cognitive therapies for treating these patients. The paper also provides some guidance for future research.
