Contribuições da psicologia na atenção ao paciente cirúrgico: uma análise da literatura / Contributions of psychology to surgical patients care: a literature analysis

RESUMO

O atendimento ao paciente cirúrgico é campo de atuação desa!ador por gerar significados e sentimentos que variam com a subjetividade do paciente, considerada no modelo biopsicossocial, o que exige um preparo específico por parte dos profissionais psicólogos que demonstram di!culdades justi!cadas pela falta de delimitação epistemológica da Psicologia da Saúde, que ainda não constitui um campo de saber coeso e bem delimitado. O presente trabalho objetivou realizar um levantamento bibliográ!co, especí!co e sistematizado, acerca da assistência psicológica ao paciente cirúrgico adulto internado, no intuito de identi!car os eixos estruturantes/norteadores da intervenção psicológica no período pré, peri e/ou pós-operatório. Como método, foi realizado levantamento bibliográ!co nas bases de dados PubMed/Medline, Lilacs, Web of Science, Scielo e Pepsic, de artigos empíricos dos anos 2005 a 2009, com a palavra-chave surgery associada às seguintes palavras e/ou expressões [preoperative psychological intervention + surgery], [perioperative psychological intervention + surgery], e [postoperative psychological intervention + surgery]. Foram obtidos 17 artigos signi!cativos. Os resultados foram discutidos considerando que a melhoria do trabalho do psicólogo implica em termos práticos, em se ter e organizar o atendimento considerando os eixos de foco psicológico, avaliação do paciente, intervenções utilizadas, procedimentos educacionais e equipes. Os trabalhos mostram um campo amplo e aberto ao desenvolvimento de pesquisas e trabalhos em psicologia da saúde.

ABSTRACT

The surgical patient care is a challenging playing !eld because it generates meanings and feelings that vary with the subjectivity of the patient, considered in the biopsychosocial model, which requires a specifi preparation by psychology professionals that struggle in a justi!ed manner for the lack of Health Psychology epistemological delimitation, in consequence of the absence of a solid knowhow and a de!ned !eld of knowledge. This study aimed to conduct a literature review, speci!c and systematic, on the psychological assistance to hospitalized adult surgical patients in order to identify the organizing/guiding axis of psychological intervention in the pre, peri and/or post operatory period. As method, a review of empirical articles of the years 2005 to 2009, with the keywords surgery associated with the following words and / or phrases [preoperative psychological intervention + surgery], [perioperative psychological intervention + surgery], and [postoperative psychological intervention + surgery] was done, using literature in the PubMed / Medline, Lilacs, Web of Science, and Scielo Pepsic databases. We obtained 17 signi!cant articles The results were discussed considering that the improvement of the psychologist’s work means, in practical terms, to have and organize the service considering the axes of psychological focus, patient assessment, interventions used, educational procedures and teams. Studies show a wide and open !eld for the development of researches and papers in health psychology.
