Saúde do homem e stenção primária: o olhar da enfermagem / Man ?s health and primary attention: the nursing view

RESUMO

Este estudo teve como objetivo conhecer os motivos da baixa procura dos homens pelo serviço de atenção primária, utilizando-se a abordagem qualitativa. Foram sujeitos da pesquisa 18 homens, de 25 a 59 anos, em início de tratamento ou em acompanhamento médico no ambulatório de especialidades do Hospital Universitário de Juiz de Fora (HU/CAS/UFJF). A análise compreensiva desvelou as Unidades de Significação O conhecimento do homem sobre a prevenção da saúde; o momento em que o homem busca assistência para a saúde; sensações e sentimentos dos homens no processo de tratamento. Consideramos que a construção da identidade masculina alicerçada na questão de gênero e a precarização dos serviços de saúde dificultam ao homem a busca de assistência primária e que a equipe profissional da atenção primária deve ter preparo para atender o homem em suas necessidades, desenvolvendo ações para a saúde que contemple a singularidade masculina

ABSTRACT

This study aims to know the reasons of the men?s primary attention service low demand, using the qualitative approach. Eighteen men, from 25 to 29 years old, at the beginning of the treatment or under medical follow-up in the ambulatory of specialties of the Hospital Universitário de Juiz de Fora (HU/CAS/UFJF) were research?s subjects. The comprehensive analysis revealed the Units of Signification The man?s knowledge about the health prevention; the moment in that the man looks for assistance for the health; men ? s sensations and feelings in the process of treatment. We consider that the male identity construction based on the question of the gender and the precarious health services is difficult for the man the search for the primary assistance and that the professional team of the primary attention must be prepared to attend the man in its needs, developing actions for the health that cover the male singularity.
