RESUMEN

Web 2.0 es un término que se refiere a aplicaciones de la Internet que facilitan compartir, participar y colaborar con información. El objetivo del presente estudio es revisar diferentes aplicaciones que utilizan la tecnología Web 2.0 y que pueden ser utilizadas para mejorar la práctica del gastroenterólogo. Se revisan aplicaciones que incluyen blogs, microblogging, RSS, podcasts, wikis, y redes sociales. "Gastroenterología 2.0" representa las aplicaciones, servicios y herramientas basadas en la Web 2.0 - de fácil uso y generalmente de acceso gratuito - para consumidores, pacientes, gastroenterólogos, profesionales de salud en general e investigadores. A pesar que diversos estudios han demostrado beneficios de la implementación de estos sistemas en la práctica médica, es necesario realizar más investigaciones que demuestren la utilidad de la aplicación de estas tecnologías para la mejora de la salud.

ABSTRACT

The term Web 2.0 refers to the use of Internet applications which enable the users to share, participate and collaborate together on information. The objective of this study is to check different applications that use Web 2.0, which could help the gastroenterologist in his daily practice. The applications that will be checked include blogs, microblogging, RSS, podcasts, wikis and social networks. "Gastroenterology 2.0" represents the applications, services, and tools based on Web 2.0, which are of easy use and easily accessible - to consumers, patients, gastroenterologists and other health professionals, as well as researchers. Although several studies have shown the benefits these technologies have on the medical practice, it is necessary to conduct further studies to demonstrate the use of these applications on improving health.
