RESUMO

O objetivo deste texto é discutir a diversidade cultural na prática escolar daeducação física à luz dos pressupostos da educação intercultural. Para tanto, é feita uma discussão teórica a partir de alguns autores que enunciam tal perspectiva (educação intercultural) e, posteriormente, alguns desdobramentos para a educação física escolar.O eixo argumentativo compreende a escola como espaço sócio-cultural que, para além de respeitar e valorizar as diferenças, deve alinhar-se na direção da comunicação, do diálogo e do compartilhar entre os diferentes atores que compõem o cotidiano escolar.Do contrário, há o risco da banalização ou deformação do Outro, pendendo arelativismos extremos ou novos etnocentrismos..

ABSTRACT

This paper's objective is to discuss cultural diversity in the school practice of Physical Education, in the light of the principles of intercultural education. To that end, a theoretical discussion based on the authors who enunciate this perspective (intercultural education) is made, and, subsequently, some unfoldments for Physical Education in the school space. The argumentative axis understands school as a socialcultural space that, besides respecting and valuing differences, must align itself towardscommunication, dialogue and the sharing of the different actors composing the school routine. Otherwise, there is the risk of trivialising or deforming the Other, tending to extreme relativism or new forms of ethnocentrism. .
