ABSTRACT
The organizational climate is a variable that has a significant effect on the behavior of workers. Recently has intensified the importance of assessing the organizational climate in all types of organizations. The aim of this study was to determine the construct validity, and reliability) of the EMCO. This scale was constructed for Mexican population by Gomez and Vicario (2008) through the use of natural semantic networks. We performed a descriptive, ex post facto and cross-sectional research with a sample of 673 workers in a health institution. The results show adequate levels of reliability (Cronbach's alpha a > 0,70). Construct validity was performed using exploratory factor analysis and structural equation analysis, confirming the structure of eight factors of the scale at three levels (individual, interpersonal and organizational), also was confirmed the concurrent validity of the scale by statistically significant relationship between organizational climate factors with burnout factors. The EMCO has eight factors, and these factors are organized into three levels of analysis, and include 29-item. The results indicate that the EMCO is an effective tool for measuring organizational climate and encourage the conduct of research.
