Evolução da pesquisa em saúde coletiva na UEL / Evolution of public health research in UEL

RESUMO

OBJETIVO: descrever e analisar a trajetória da pesquisa em Saúde Coletiva da Universidade Estadualde Londrina – UEL, nos 40 anos de seu desenvolvimento institucional. MÉTODOS: pesquisa qualitativautilizando-se análise documental, entrevistas com gestores do curso de Medicina e com professores doDepartamento de Saúde Coletiva e um grupo focal de estudantes do curso de Medicina. RESULTADOS:observou-se que a pesquisa teve grande impulso com a criação do Mestrado em Saúde Coletiva há20 anos. A participação de estudantes de graduação tem-se dado principalmente em um módulode integração ensino, serviço e comunidade, no qual são desenvolvidas pesquisas epidemiológicas. Foram apontadas algumas insuficiências como a falta de registro de pesquisas na Pró-Reitoria correspondente na UEL e a não publicação de pesquisas concluídas. CONCLUSÕES: houve grandeevolução da pesquisa em Saúde Coletiva na instituição, porém os agentes pesquisados concordamque há necessidade de implementação e desenvolvimento de mais estudos e investigações, seja por meio do ensino com pesquisa na graduação ou do ensino para pesquisa na pós-graduação.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To describe and analyze the trajectory of Public Health research at the State University of Londrina - UEL, within 40 years of its institutional development. METHODS: Qualitative research using document analysis, interviews with managers of medical school and faculty of the Department of Public Health and a focus group of students of Medicine. RESULTS: It was observed that the research had majorboost with the creation of the Master in Public Health for 20 years. The participation of undergraduatestudents have been given primarily an integration module teaching, service and community, which are developed in epidemiological research. Suggests some shortcomings such as lack of record of research in the Dean at UEL and the corresponding non-publication of completed research. CONCLUSIONS: There was great evolution of Public Health research in the institution, but the agents surveyed agree thatthere is need for development and implementation of more studies and investigations, either throughteaching with research or teaching in undergraduate research in graduate school.
