Eficácia e previsibilidade de implantes curtos - revisão sistemática / Effectiveness and predictability of short implants - systematic review

RESUMO

Um levantamento da revisão sistemática visando os aspectos importantes sobre o estudo de implantes curtos cujas taxas de sucesso semelhantes ao de implantes mais longos. Isso seria uma grande vantagem, dado que permitiria evitar a preparação prévia da superfície de recepção por meio de técnicas cirúrgicas mais invasivas. Os artigos foram coletados nas bases de dados eletrônicas nos idiomas português brasileiro e inglês no período pré-selecionado do ano 1990 a 2013. As bases mais comuns são: PubMed, MEDLINE, SciELO, BBO, LILACS, Dental Review, Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde (BVS), Web of Science e revistas brasileiras. 742 indexados e 84 não indexados nas bases citadas foram incluídos de revistas não contabilizadas nas bases de dados descritas. Do total, 358 foram eliminados por duplicidade e 441 por não obedecerem aos critérios estabelecidos. Dos demais relacionados com o tema, 9 tinham pouca relevância por focalizarem principalmente relatos de casos clínicos; os 20 artigos restantes pertinentes tiveram seus textos completos impressos. Conclui-se que o uso de implantes mais curtos oferece um número de vantagens potenciais, e sua utilização produz o mesmo grau de sucesso do tratamento como a utilização de implantes mais longos

ABSTRACT

A survey of systematic review on the important aspects in order to study short implants with success rates similar to those of longer implants would be a great advantage since it would avoid the prior preparation of the receiving surface through more invasive surgical techniques. The articles were collected in electronic databases in Brazilian Portuguese and English languages in the periods of the year 1990-2013. The most common bases are: PubMed, MEDLINE, SciELO, BBO, LILACS, Dental Review, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Web of Science and Brazilian journals. Seven hundred forty-two indexed papers and 84 not indexed were included. Three hundred fifty-eight were eliminated by duplicity and 441 for not obeying the established criteria. Among the other related to the studied theme, 9 had little relevance since they focused mainly in clinical case reports. The remaining 20 relevant articles had their texts fully printed. It was concluded that the use of shorter implants offers a number of potential advantages, and its use presents the same degree of success of the treatment using longer implants
