La enseñanza del diagnóstico por imágenes en las Universidades Argentina / The teaching of diagnostic imaging at the Universities Argentina

RESUMEN

La especialidad de la medicina denominada Diagnóstico por Imágenes comprende todas aquellas áreas del conocimiento médico que utilizando tecnologías como Radiología, Ecografía, Tomografía Computarizada, resonancia Magnética, Mamografía, Medicina Nuclear, ensitometría, Angiografías diagnósticas y terapeúticas, permiten aproximar el diagnóstico de un gran número de patologías, y en otras ocasiones incluso proveen actuaciones terapéuticas (procedimientos intervencionistas), todas ellas con integración creciente con la informática. Este amplio abanico de áreas, hace que educar en Diagnóstico por Imágenes constituya un gran desafío. A través de la Asociación de Profesores de Diagnóstico por Imágenes de la Argentina se trata de buscar la unificación de los programas y los criterios de enseñanza-aprendizaje en todo el país. El objetivo de esta tesis fue conocer el estado actual de la enseñanza del Diagnóstico por Imágenes en las principales niversidades argentinas. El estudio fue prospectivo y cuantitativo. Se realizaron encuestas estructuradas sobre el funcionamiento de las Cátedras, una encuesta estructurada sobre la metodología docente que aplican y una encuesta estructurada sobre las patologías que se enseñan. También y a través de Internet se hizo un análisis de las páginas Web de las Cátedras (si tenían). Se incluyeron un total de 12 Cátedras con los 12 Profesores Titulares y participaron también 13 Profesores Adjuntos o sistentes. 9 Cátedras de Universidades Nacionales y 3 Cátedras de Universidades Privadas. La materia se dicta en 8 Cátedras y en 4 está integrada en otras materias. La eduración del cursado es variable con un promedio de 13 semanas.

ABSTRACT

The specialty of medicine called Imaging Diagnosis covers all areas of medical knowledge that using technologies such as Radiology, Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, The Diagnostic Imaging Teachers Association of Argentina is seeking unification programs and standards of teaching and learning across the country. The objectives of this thesis to know the current estatus of the teaching of Diagnostic Imaging at the major universities in Argentina. The study was prospective and quantitative. Estructured questionnaire on the functioning of the Cathedras, a structured survey on the applied teaching methodology and a structured questionnaire on the pathologies that are taught were performed. Also through the Internet the Cathedras Web page analysis (if they had). A total of 12 Cathedras with 12 professors and 13 associate professors or assistants were included. National universities 9 Cathedras and Private universities 3. The atter is taught in 8 and in other 4 Cathedras are integrated into other matters. The course length is variable with and average of 13 weeks. The teacher-student ratio is on average 1 16. The average is 32 hours of lectures and five Cathedras do not dictate. The average is 38 hours of practice and four Cathedras do not dictate. Densitometry, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Angiography, allow to approximate the diagnosis of a large number pathologies, and sometimes even provide therapeutic actions (interventional procedures), all with increasing integration with informatics. This wide range of areas, to educate in Diagnostic Imaging is a major challenge.
