ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the efficacy of a modified protocol of induction therapy and the Movement Restriction (TRIM)with decreased daily burden of containment. Method: Case study of a patient with a motor sequel in her right hemisphereafter a stroke by being submitted to the TRIM modified protocol, which consisted in three hours of restriction, fivetimes a week, for two consecutive months. The healthy upper limb (UL) was contained one hour before the service; itremained during the treatment an average duration of one hour and it was withdrawn one hour after the session. Threephysiotherapy assessments were performed: on the first day, in the end of the intervention and 90 days after the end oftreatment, using modified Fugl-Meyer Scale (FMS) and the timing of activities. For data analysis, models of descriptivestatistics were used and linear regression on the timing of the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and EFM adapted aswell. Conclusion: The TRIM modified protocol used in this study obtained similar benefits to the studies previouslyperformed, and reducing the daily burden of containment facilitated patient accession to treatment not compromisingits results.
