RESUMO
O uso clínico de biomateriais osseosubstitutos foi avaliado em Niterói/RJ. De 282 dentistas entrevistados, 4,96% tinham cadastro em banco de tecido ósseo, 40,43% conheceram o tema na graduação e 41,84% já realizaram enxertias (16,31% até 10 casos). Os materiais mais usados foram xenógeno (32,98%), autógeno (29,79%) e aloplástico (23,40%), com indicação para preenchimento alveolar (30,85%), boa razão custo-efetividade e procedência importada sendo o dobro da nacional. O atendimento privado foi cinco vezes maior do que o público e com baixa morbidade associada. Os dados confirmam a boa aceitação profissional para terapia com enxertos ósseos.
ABSTRACT
The clinical use of bone substitute biomaterials was evaluated in Niteroi, RJ. From 282 dentists interviewed, 4.96% had registered in bone tissue bank, 40.43% were introduced to the theme during graduation and 41.84% already performed grafts (16.31% up to 10 cases). The most common materials used were xenografts (32.98%), autografts (29.79%) and alloplastic grafts (23.40%), with indication for filling of extraction sockets (30.85%), good cost-effectiveness ratio and foreign origin is twice the Brazilian. The private service was five times higher than public one and with low morbidity associated. Data confirms a good acceptance among professionals for therapy with bone grafts.
