ABSTRACT
In the process of constitution of the National States in Latin America, there have been a number of taxonomies that organize the social dynamics of the individuals who compose it, promoting and privileging, sometimes, a segment of the population, resulting in marginalization and exclusion in other areas that make up and structure the diverse societies in the current era. This article takes an approach to the processes of change and transformation experienced by the notion of democracy within family relationships in different contexts, through claims and configurations of equal citizenship that have been the paradigm for the family in the present. This current and interesting subject seeks to provide critical elements for analysis and interpretation of new family configurations in different contexts, where social action and research on health care are developed.
