Influências sociais no processo do aleitar: percepções das mães / Social Influences in the Breastfeeding: Mothers Perceptions

RESUMO

O estudo objetivou analisar as influências sociais no processo do aleitar, sob a ótica de mãescadastradas em uma Estratégia de Saúde da Família em Juazeiro – BA. Pesquisa com abordagemqualitativa de caráter exploratório e descritivo. Realizaram-se onze entrevistas semi estruturadas. Coma análise das entrevistas emergiram três categorias, as quais foram subdivididas para uma melhorexploração do tema. Constatou-se que a percepção materna quanto às influências sofridas durante a amamentação nem sempre foi vista como algo favorável ao ato de amamentar, resultando muitasvezes, na introdução de outros alimentos antes da criança completar seis meses de vida, entretanto,algumas mães encararam isso como um fator positivo, atribuído à experiência e ao saber das pessoas mais velhas. A promoção, a proteção e o apoio ao aleitamento materno devem ocorrer ainda durante a gestação, valorizando também os aspectos de inserção social desta mulher/mãe.

ABSTRACT

The study aimed to analyze the social influences on the breastfeeding process, from the perspective of mothers enrolled in a Family Health Strategy in Juazeiro - BA. Search with qualitative exploratory and descriptive. There were eleven semi-structured interviews. With the analysis of the interviews revealed three categories, which were subdivided to better exploitation of the theme. It was found that maternal perception regarding influences suffered during breastfeeding has not always been seen as favorable to the act of breastfeeding, often resulting in the introduction of other foods before the child is six monthsold, however, some mothers perceived this as a positive, given the experience and knowledge of older people. The promotion, protection and support of breast feeding should occur early in pregnancy, also emphasizing the aspects of social integration of the woman / mother.
