RESUMO
Introdução:
O traumatismo dental consiste em uma lesão de gravidade, extensão e intensidade diversificadas decorrente de forças que atuam no elemento dentário e de alta prevalência em crianças na faixa etária de 1 a 3 anos.Objetivo:
Relatar o caso clínico de um paciente de 1 ano e 8 meses, do gênero masculino, que compareceu à clínica de Odontopediatria da Universi dade Federal do Amazonas, com queixa de fratura no dente 51.Método:
Após exames clínico e radiográfico, foi diagnosticada a presença de uma fratura coronorradicular de grande extensão.Resultado:
O tratamento de escolha foi a exodontia, uma vez que, o tratamento conservador mostrou-se inviável devido à extensão subgengival da lesão. A instalação do aparelho man tenedor de espaço não foi indicada.Conclusão:
O trauma dental, principalmente em bebês, é um desafio para o Cirurgião-Dentista. A abordagem de uma fratura coronorradicular deve ser baseada no bom senso e conhecimento científico para obter-se um tratamento adequado.ABSTRACT
Introduction:
Tooth trauma consists in an injury of severity, extent and intensity varied due to forces acting on the tooth element with high prevalence in children aged 1 -3 years. Objec tive To report a clinical case of a patient 1 year and 8 months, male, attended in the pediatric dentistry clinic of the Federal University of Amazonas, complaining of fractured tooth 51. Me thod After clinical and radiographic examination, was diagnosed the presence of a crown-root fracture with great extension.Result:
The treatment of choice was the extraction, since the conservative treatment was impracticable due to subgingival extension of the lesion. The install of the appliance space maintainer was not indicated.Conclusion:
The dental trauma, especially in infants, is a challenge for the dental surgeon. The approach of a root-crown fracture should be based on common sense and scientific knowledge to obtain appropriate treatment.
