Equilíbrio postural de mulheres adultas em duas faixas etárias distintas / Postural balance among groups of adult women at two different ages

RESUMO

O presente estudo teve como objetivo comparar o equilíbrio postural de mulheres adultas em duas faixas etárias, sendo elas de 19 a 22 anos (G1) e de 24 a 30 anos (G2). O equilíbrio postural foi mensurado por meio de um estabilômetro AccuSway Plus, da marca AMTI (Advanced Mechanical Technology, INC). As variáveis analisadas foram a amplitude do centro de pressão na direção ânteroposterior (COPap) e na direção médio-lateral (COPml), e velocidade média de deslocamento do centro de pressão (Vm), na situação de olhos fechados e olhos abertos. Para todas as variáveis o G2 apresentouvalores de oscilações inferiores ao G1, porém apenas a Vm apresentou diferenças estatisticamente significativas tanto na situação de olhos abertos quanto na de olhos fechados. Conclui-se que as mulheres adultas na faixa etária maior demonstram melhor controle do equilíbrio que as adultas mais jovens, o que fornece indícios para um não completo controle da estabilidade no principio da vida adulta.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to compare the postural balance of adult women in both age groups, namely 19 to 22 years (G1) and 24 to 30 years (G2). Postural balance was measured by a stabilometryAccuSway Plus brand AMTI (Advanced Mechanical Technology, Inc.). The variables used were the amplitude of the center of pressure in the antero-posterior direction (COPap) and medial-lateral direction (COPml), and mean velocity of the center of pressure (Vm), the situation with my eyes closed and eyes open. For all variables G2 showed values lower than the G1 oscillations, but only the Vm showed statistically significant differences in the position of both eyes open and with eyes closed. We conclude that adult women in the age range showed better balance control than the younger adults, which providesevidence for a non-complete control of stability at the beginning of adulthood.
