RESUMEN

El Dr. Trujillo fue médico y pediatra egresado de la Universidad de Antioquia y realizó la subespecialidad en Infectología Pediátrica en la Universidad de Tulane con la Dra. Margareth Smith. A su regreso al país, comenzó una fructífera labor fundando y desarrollando el laboratorio y la Sección de Infectología en el hospital infantil San Vicente de Paul en Medellín. Desde allí desarrolló sus actividades docentes en infectología a la par con los primeros estudios clínicos en tuberculosis y en antibióticos para el tratamiento de infecciones pediátricas, de ahí que muchos de los antibióticos de uso corriente en pediatría hoy fueron estudiados y evaluados por el Dr. Trujillo y su grupo de colaboradores.

ABSTRACT

Dr. Trujillo was a physician and pediatrician graduated from the University of Antioquia and performed the subspecialty in Pediatric Infectology at the University of Tulane with Dr. Margareth Smith. Upon his return to the country, he began a fruitful work founding and developing the laboratory and the Infectology Section at the San Vicente de Paul children's hospital in Medellín. From there he developed his teaching activities in infectology at the same time as the first clinical studies in tuberculosis and antibiotics for the treatment of pediatric infections, hence many of the antibiotics commonly used in pediatrics today were studied and evaluated by Dr. Trujillo. and his group of collaborators.
