O cuidado à mulher como centro da estratégia saúde da família / Women's care as the center of the family health strategy

RESUMO

O objetivo deste artigo é descrever e discutir a implantação do Programa Atenção Integral à Saúde da Mulher (PAISM) na Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF) na cidade de Rio Negro, no Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), entre o ano de 2007 e 2008. O entendimento era que a mulher é quem cuida, chamando para si a responsabilidade por toda família. Por isso concluiu-se que, para cuidar verdadeiramente da mulher, precisa-se atender toda a família e a comunidade. Trata-se de um relato de experiência que demonstra como a organização do programa de saúde da mulher potencializou a implantação dos diferentes programas de Atenção Básica do Ministério da Saúde e a própria organização da ESF enquanto modelo de saúde alternativo ao modelo biomédico. A partir do entendimento das necessidades da mulher, toda comunidade se beneficiou, pois o serviço foi organizado de forma a cuidar e não simplesmente vigiar a saúde da população

ABSTRACT

The objective of this article is to describe and discuss the implementation of the Program of Comprehensive Attention to Women's Health in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) in the city of Rio Negro, Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), between the years 2007 and 2008. The understanding was that it is the woman who handles care, taking on herself the responsibility for the whole family. Therefore it was concluded that, to truly take care of the woman, the needs of the whole family and community must be met. This is an experience report that demonstrates how the organization of the women's health program has enhanced the implementation of various Primary Care programs of the Ministry of Health and the organization of the FHS itself as a model of health, as an alternative to the biomedical model. Understanding the needs of women benefited the whole community, because the service was organized to care for, and not simply monitor, the health of the population.
