Indicaciones y demanda de resinas compuestas en el sector posterior, en el área metropolitana de Caracas / Indications and demand of composite resing in the posterior side in the metropolitan area from Caracas

RESUMO

A survey of 100 dental practitioners graduating from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in the last 30 years; with respect to the use of posterior composite resinsmonstrate that a significant number of practitioners place composite restorations. Maxillary bicuspid are the more frequently selected posterior teeth and open or light proximal contacts were noted to be the most frequent problem, with overhangs and post operative sensitivity also observed. The benefits listed were esthetic, conservative tooth preparation and no mercury handling, and the respondents are aware of the technical difficulties and the frequently seen early post-operative sequellae
