Os significados de ter um filho prematuro para pais homens: contribuições da enfermagem neonatal / The significance of having a premature child to your father

RESUMO

A paternidade, culturalmente, encontra-se em transição entre o modelo hegemônico, onde o pai é provedor da família e emocionalmente afastado dos filhos e o modelo afetivo, onde o homem assume atividades de cuidado e interage emocionalmente com a criança. Quando ocorre o nascimento prematuro e internação em UTIN, o vínculo entre pai e filho é prejudicado. Objeto do estudo Os significados de ter um filho prematuro para pais homens. Objetivos: Descrever os significados atribuídos pelo pai que tem um filho prematuro internado na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal; Analisar as perspectivas de mudanças sociais e cultural do pai inserido no cuidado a seu filho prematuro na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal; Discutir como os significados atribuídos pelo pai sobre seu filho prematuro internado influenciam as práticas de cuidado na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal. Metodologia: Estudo qualitativo com abordagem etnográfica realizado em uma maternidade municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Os sujeitos do estudo foram 22 pais homens de filhos prematuros internados na UTIN. Foram realizadas entrevistas gravadas, com roteiro semi-estruturado, diário de campo, observação participante e análise de prontuários. A análise se deu através de análise temática. Fatherhood, culturally, is in transition between the hegemonic model , where the father is the family provider and emotionally away the children and the affective model, where the man takes care activities and interacts with the child emotionally.
