Enfoque pedagógico del error médico / Medical error: a focus from pedagogy

RESUMEN
El error médico (EM) por mucho tiempo se consideró un término peyorativo dentro de las ciencias médicas, no así de la economía y el derecho, pero a juicio del autor, para conocer un fenómeno y objeto es necesario adentrarse en su esencia y conocer su sistema de relaciones y así contribuir a su prevención o disminución. Se propone como objetivo determinar las relaciones del error médico y el proceso de enseñanza médica superior. Para desarrollar el objeto se debe iniciar su estudio desde su génesis, en este caso se encuentra, en el proceso de enseñanza al ser este momento donde se adquiere todo lo necesario para realizar una buena práctica médica. Se diferencia el EM de la mala práctica y sus variantes como la infracción o imprudencia, negligencia, la mala fe, el abandono, impericia, el abuso, y es importante diferenciarlos, puesto que la conducta a seguir es diferente en cada una. Se concluye que las insuficiencias en el proceso de enseñanza en la Educación Médica Superior son directamente proporcionales a la predisposición al error médico o mala práctica médica en los profesionales de la medicina, y el desarrollo tecnológico trae aparejado una predisposición al error médico, si no se tienen métodos y enfoques de enseñanzas adecuados. Se recomiendan estudios e investigaciones cubanas dirigidas al error médico con el objetivo conocer sus características epidemiológicas y sistema de relaciones para así prevenirlo, disminuir su incidencia y prevalencia.
ABSTRACT
For a long time, medical error was considered as a pejorative term within medical sciences but not in the field of economics and law. In our opinion, for a phenomenon and object to be known, it is necessary to delve into its essence and its relationship system and thus contributing to its prevention or reduction. The objective of this paper is to determine the relationships of the medical error and the higher medical education. For this purpose, the study of the object should start from its very genesis which, in our opinion, lies in the teaching process since this is the time when all the necessary skills are acquired to have good medical practice. The medical error differs from other elements like breach or imprudence, negligence, bad faith, abandonment, lack of skills, abuse, etc and it is quite important to differentiate them because the behavior to be adopted is different for each case. It is then concluded that shortages existing in the teaching process of the higher medical education are directly proportional to predisposition to medical error or medical malpractice in the health professionals. Besides, the technological development also predisposes them to medical error if adequate teaching methods and approaches are not put in place. Further research works and studies on the medical error are recommended to be made in Cuba in order to learn more about its epidemiological characteristics and system of relationships to prevent it or reduce its incidence and prevalence.
