Objective:
To evaluate patients admitted to the Burn Treatment Center at the Hospital do Servidor Público Estadual de São Paulo, from January 2011 to May 2012, treated for sequelae of burns with bovine dermal matrix regeneration.Method:
After applying the matrix on the receptor bed, it was then covered with a vacuum pack for 21 days, with changes every 3 days. After 21 days, when identified the maturation of the matrix, the protective film of silicon was removed and over the newly formed matrix and an autologous skin thickness thin graft were applied. Results:
We performed 20 procedures in 15 patients, using Integra, being operated nine men and six women. The average age was 26.86 years (range 7-78 years). The anatomical location most frequently operated was the neck. Conclusion:
It is concluded that there was a benefit in the treatment of sequelae of burns with the use of bovine dermal matrix in the case shown, both in terms of aesthetic and functional.Key words
