Introduction:
Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that decreases the lifetimeand has a high mortality. New treatments offer hope but alsopresent challenges for patients, practitioners and researchers. Objective:
To conduct a review literature on exercise in CF patients, selecting articles published in scientific literature in English anddiscussing the main results of this work in order to contribute withnew knowledge about Cystic Fibrosis.Method:
selected articles in English, performed with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, between 5 and 62 years, of both sexes, athletes or not, whether or not accompanied by physical educators. We selected 23 references, 10 open clinical trials, 9 controlledclinical trials, 2 cohorts, 1 cross-sectional study and 1 case study. Results andDiscussion:
Studies show improved conditioningand strength of respiratory muscles, besides the positive responseto treatment with exercise. Identified the improvement of qualityof life, however, the data regarding the increased survival remainwithout further clarification. Although the exercises are recommended, the cellular mechanisms responsible for these improvementsare unclear. Conclusion:
Exercise contributes positively in lung function andresearches are needed to address the issue and urge you to reviewinvolving multidisciplinary, longitudinal studies and meta-analyzes.Studies with homogeneous characteristics, with a largernumber of respondents, noting the age interval are also importantto allow the results to provide greater security for academics or forthose interested.
