Processo de desenvolvimento do instrumento de avaliação do nível de dificuldade do cuidador informal ao cuidar do idoso / Development process of evalution instrument of the level difficulty of the informal caregiver to take care of the elderly

RESUMO

A população idosa do Brasil vem crescendo consideravelmente, sendo que este cenário contribui, cada vez mais, para um quadro de sobrevivência de idosos na dependência de seus familiares. Cotidianamente, esses cuidadores informais apresentam dificuldades inerentes ao ato de cuidar e esta situação interfere diretamente, na qualidade da assistência prestada ao idoso. Sabendo que as atividades realizadas pelo cuidador interferem na qualidade de vida do idoso e que não há instrumentos que avaliem suas dificuldades para a realização do cuidado, verificou-se a necessidade de construir um instrumento que mensure o nível de dificuldade dos cuidadores informais de idosos. O estudo foi delineado em oito etapas 1) revisão bibliográfica; 2) entrevista com cuidadores; 3) transcrição da entrevista; 4) análise e interpretação da entrevista; 5) construção do instrumento; 6) apreciação do rascunho do construto por juízes; 7) pré-teste; 8) avaliação da consistência interna e homogeneidade do instrumento. O instrumento foi constituído por onze domínios e 48 itens, sendo que cada item apresentava indicadores de um a cinco, representando o pior e melhor escore, respectivamente. A análise da consistência interna do instrumento foi realizada pelo Coeficiente de Alfa de Cronbach. Os valores de Alfa de Cronbach revelaram uma boa consistência interna para os onze domínios do instrumento, com o coeficiente alfa variando entre 0,74 e 1,00...

ABSTRACT

The elderly population has grown considerably in Brazil, and this scenario contributes to a condition of elderly people depending on their families caring for them. Routinely, these informal caregivers have difficulties inherent to the act of caring and this situation directly affects the quality of care provided to the elderly. Aware that the activities performed by the caregiver interfere on the life quality of the elderly, and that there are no tools to assess his/her difficulties in performing the caring activity, the need to build a tool to assess the level of difficulty informal caregivers feel when looking after the elderly has been evidenced. The study was designed in eight steps: 1) bibliographic review; 2) interview with caregivers; 3) transcription of the interviews; 4) interview analysis and interpretation; 5) elaboration of the tool; 6) assessment of the draft by judges; 7) pre test; 8) assessment of internal consistency by eleven domains as well as homogeneity of the tool. The tool was constituted by eleven domains and forty eight items. Each item was ranked from 1 to 5, representing the best and the worst score, respectively. Internal Consistency analysis of the tool was performed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient.
