O suicídio e os apelos da alma: reflexões sobre o suicídio na clínica junguiana com pacientes adolescentes / Suicide and the appeals of the soul: reflections on suicide in the Jungian clinic with adolescent patients

RESUMO

O presente artigo aborda a autonomia do sujeito frente a decisões relativas à vida e à morte, problematizando as dificuldades encontradas pelo psicoterapeuta ao lidar com esse tema, que gera resistências e polêmicas na sociedade contemporânea.A autora discorre sobre o manejo do suicídio partindo de conceitos da psicologia analítica, notadamente de C. G.Jung e de autores pós-junguianos, que analisam a morte como experiência arquetípica ligada a necessidades iniciáticas de transformação dos aspectos da personalidade que se encontram cristalizados, e que se apresentam por meio de sintomas ligados à ideação suicida e a comportamentos autodestrutivos. Discute, também, a ambiguidade dos padrões sociais que comunicam ao adolescente e ao jovem tanto a mensagem de que é autônomo para decidir sobre certas necessidades,ao mesmo tempo em que veta sua liberdade a respeito de outros temas, como o sentido da vida e da morte. Questiona o paradigma que orienta a prática do profissional da área da saúde, quando este encontra-se identificado com os ideais da prática médica clássica, que toma para si a responsabilidade de decidir pelo paciente o que deve ser feito com suas pulsões,impedindo-o de ser ouvido como sujeito da experiência. Por fim, propõe uma abordagem ao suicídio que permita ao paciente estabelecer uma relação metaforizada com a morte a partir dos símbolos observados nas atitudes e fantasias inconscientes, com o objetivo de alcançar outros sentidos que se encontram impedidos tanto no discurso do paciente como de seus familiares, por estarem tomados pelo medo e/ou alívio vislumbrados pela morte concreta.

ABSTRACT

The present paper discusses the autonomy of subjects regarding decisions about life and death, debating the difficulties found by psychotherapists when dealing with this subject, which creates resistances and controversies in contemporary society. The author talks about dealing with suicide according to concepts of analytical psychology, especially C. G. Jung and some post-Jungian authors, which analyzes death as archetypal experience linked to initiatic necessities of transformation of crystallized aspects of personality, and that show up through symptoms connected with the suicidal conception and with self-destructive behaviors. It discusses also the ambiguity of social standards that conveys adolescents and young people both the message of their being autonomous to decide on certain necessities and hindrances to their freedomas regards other subjects, as happens with the sense of life and death. The paper questions the paradigm that guides the practice of health professionals when they identify with the ideals of the classic medical practice, which attributes toitself the responsibility to decide in the patients’ behalf what they must do with their drives, preventing them from beinglistened as the subjects of their own experience. Lastly, it proposes an approach of suicide allowing patients to establish ametaphorical rapport with death on the basis of symbols observed in unconscious attitudes and fantasies, in order to reachother senses censured both in patients’ discourse and that of their relatives, due to their being dominated by the fear and/or release concrete death allows them to feel.
