Necesidades sentidas de aprendizaje en residentes noveles del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico "Hermanos Ameijeiras" / Learning necessities in beginner residents of the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Clinical-Surgical Hospital

RESUMEN

Fundamento la educación permanente a través del posgrado contribuye a consolidar una formación profesional sólida y competente. Objetivo: identificar las necesidades sentidas de aprendizaje en la residencia de los médicos que inician su formación como especialistas en correspondencia con los principios de la educación continuada. Métodos: se realizó una investigación descriptiva transversal durante el curso académico 2013-2014 en el Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico "Hermanos Ameijeiras". La población de estudio estuvo constituida por el total de residentes matriculados (109) de la cual se seleccionó un muestreo accidental de 36. Se aplicaron métodos teóricos de análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción y empíricos una encuesta en forma de cuestionario, para que los residentes autoevaluaran las habilidades alcanzadas. Resultados: en la autovaloración sobre su desempeño como médicos, la mayoría considera que es bueno, el mayor porciento posee las habilidades generales necesarias para su desempeño profesional y las relacionadas con la promoción de salud, los temas en los cuales los residentes desean recibir educación continuada son las correspondientes a medios diagnósticos Laboratorio Clínico, Imagenología y Electrocardiografía fundamentalmente y Urgencias Médicas. Conclusiones: las opiniones de los residentes encuestados denotan insuficiencias en las habilidades relacionadas con el diagnóstico clínico, tratamiento y medios diagnósticos. Estas necesidades sentidas deben ser identificadas precozmente y resueltas por la vía de la educación continuada.

ABSTRACT

Background: the steady education through the post grade teaching contributes to consolidate a solid and competent professional formation. Objective: to identify the learning necessities in the residence for doctors who begin their specialists' formation in correspondence with the principles of the continuous education. Methods: it was carried out a cross-sectional descriptive investigation during the academic year 2013-2014 in the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Clinical-Surgical Hospital. The study population comprised the total of registered residents (109) an accidental sampling of 36 was selected out of this population. Theoretical methods of analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction were applied and empiric ones a survey in questionnaire form was applied, so that the residents self-assess the reached abilities. Results: in the self-assessment on their performance as doctors, most consider that it is good, that most of them possess the necessary general abilities for their professional performance and those related with health promotion, the topics in which the residents want to receive continuous education are those corresponding to diagnostic procedures, Clinical laboratory, Imaging and Electrocardiography fundamentally and Medical Urgencies. Conclusions: the opinions of the interviewed residents denote inadequacies in the abilities related with the clinical diagnosis, treatment and diagnostic procedures. These necessities should be early identified and solved through the continuous education.
