Reconstrução de maxila atrófica com L-PRF / Reconstruction of the atrophic maxillary arch with L-PRF

RESUMO

Um dos maiores desafios da cirurgia oral na atualidade é encontrar biomateriais que atuem na diminuição da morbidade dos procedimentos de enxertia, e que tragam resultados semelhantes ao enxerto autógeno. Nos últimos anos, terapias com potencial biológico têm sido indicadas em associação a biomateriais com características osteocondutoras. Este trabalho teve a finalidade de mostrar, através de um relato de caso clínico, que a fibrina rica em plaquetas e leucócitos (L-PRF), associada ao osso homógeno, pode ser uma opção de enxerto mesmo em casos complexos, como a reconstrução de maxila atrófica.

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, one of the greatest challenges in oral surgery is to find biomaterials to reduce the morbidity on grafting procedures, but with similar results to the autogenous bone technique. In the last years, cell therapies with a biologic potential have been associated to biomaterials with osteoconductive properties. This case report demonstrates that the L-PRF (leukocyte - platelet rich fibrin) plus homogenous grafts can be a grafting option even in complex cases, such as in the reconstruction of the atrophic maxilla.
