RESUMEN
Se realizó una investigación de corte transversal en la población de Encrucijada, Villa Clara, en el mes de mayo del año 2009, con la finalidad de efectuar un registro de presión arterial poblacional, con la peculiaridad de que este se ejecutó de forma extrainstitucional. Se efectuaron talleres de orden teórico-práctico a todos los participantes médicos para garantizar la confiabilidad extrema de la toma de presión arterial. Se habilitaron 10 puntos para registrar la presión en lugares concurridos de la población. La serie estuvo integrada por 588 personas, que en cuatro horas fueron examinadas; se obtuvieron, además, datos anamnésicos de interés. Los resultados obtenidosfueron procesados estadísticamente, y ofrecieron información sobre la elevada frecuencia de la hipertensión y de la prehipertensión arterial en la población registrada. El porciento de normotensosy de hipertensos controlados resultó ser muy bajo. Se obtuvo información sobre las presiones sistólicas y diastólicas medias poblacionales.
ABSTRACT
On May 2009, a transversal study was conducted taking the population of Encrucijada, Villa Clara,as sample. The main objective of this study was to register the levels of arterial pressure on thispopulation with the peculiarity of being made apart from medical institutions. Theoretical andpractical workshops were taught to all physicians took part in this study in order to guarantee themaximum reliability while taking the arterial pressure level. In popular places, ten points were fittedout to take people's blood pressure level. The series was made up of 588 people who wereexposed to tests during four hours. Anamnesic data of interest were obtained. Results werestatistically processed showing information about the high rate of people suffering from high bloodpressure as well as arterial pre-hypertension on the population was studied. The percentage ofnormotensive people and patients under treatment turned out to be low. Also information aboutmean systolic pressure and diastolic pressure of this population was obtained.
