RESUMEN

Fundamento El envejecimiento es un proceso normal de cambios que involucra los tejidos blandos y estructuras óseas faciales, provocado por factores fisiológicos intrínsecos y factores extrínsecos entre los cuales se encuentra el tratamiento de Ortodoncia. Objetivo: Mostrar los efectos de las extracciones dentarias en los tejidos faciales que indican envejecimiento facial. Presentación del caso Paciente femenina de 28 años de edad, grupo étnico europoide, con antecedentes de salud que tuvo tratamiento de Ortodoncia con extracciones seriadas. Se muestran datos de variables clínicas y mediciones en el plano frontal, perfil y la sonrisa, sobre fotografías que indican el acelerado proceso de envejecimiento facial. Conclusiones: Cuando efectuamos procederes con extracciones dentarias tempranamente pueden acelerarse este proceso, si no se tienen en cuenta que los cambios que suceden con la terapia se asemejan a los del envejecimiento normal. En tanto, se observaron excelentes resultados al finalizar el tratamiento, aunque pueden con el paso de los años expresar caras envejecidas.

ABSTRACT

Background: The aging is a normal process of changes that involves the soft tissue and facial bony structures, caused by intrinsic physiologic factors and extrinsic factors like the orthodontics treatment. Objective: To show the effects of the teeth extractions in the facial tissue thatindicate facial aging. Case presentation 28 years old feminine patient of europoide ethnic group, with antecedents of having orthodontics treatment with serial extractions. Data of clinical variables and mensuration is shown in the front plane, profile and the smile, on pictures that indicate the quick process of facial aging. Conclusions: When we make procedures with early teeth extractions, they can accelerate this process, if it is not kept in mind that the changes that happen to the therapy resemble each other to those of the normal aging. As long as, excellent results were observed when concluding the treatment, although they can express aged faces through the pass of years.
