Modificación de conocimientos sobre adherencia terapéutica en adultas mayores con cáncer de mama mediante un programa educativo / Modification to knowledge on therapeutic adherence in aged women with breast cancer by means of an educational program

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa en 15 adultas mayores con cáncer de mama, pertenecientes al Policlínico "Ángel Ortiz Vázquez" del municipio de Manzanillo, provincia de Granma, desde agosto hasta noviembre del 2013, con vistas a modificar sus conocimientos sobre adherencia terapéutica mediante un programa educativo. Entre las variables analizadas sobresalieron nivel de escolaridad, estado conyugal, conocimientos sobre cáncer de mama y conocimientos sobre adherencia terapéutica. La información se obtuvo del examen mínimo del estado mental y la encuesta. El programa educativo estuvo conformado por 10 sesiones, y permitió que las integrantes de la serie elevaran su nivel de conocimientos sobre el tema.

ABSTRACT

An educational intervention study of 15 aged women with breast cancer, belonging to "Ángel Ortiz Vázquez" Polyclinic from Manzanillo municipality in Granma province was carried out from August to November, 2013, with the aim of modifying their knowledge on therapeutic adherence by means of an educational program. Among the analyzed variables there were school level, marital status, knowledge on breast cancer and knowledge on therapeutic adherence. The information was obtained from the minimum exam of the mental status and from the survey. The educational program was conformed by 10 sessions, and it allowed the members of the series to elevate their knowledge level on the topic.
