RESUMEN
Objetivo:
describir las representaciones sociales de estudiantes de terapia respiratoria de la Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina, sobre la práctica clínica de cuidado intensivo.Métodos:
investigación cualitativa a la luz de las representaciones sociales, los sujetos participantes estudiantes de terapia respiratoria de VI semestre a quienes se les aplicó dos entrevistas semiestructuradas, se realizó análisis de contenido.Resultados:
la representación social de los estudiantes gira en torno a temas incluidos en el Proyecto Pedagógico, al tiempo de la práctica el cual se considera muy corto, mayor profundización en temas relacionados con ventilación mecánica para su aplicación en la práctica.Conclusiones:
los ejes temáticos estudiados en la práctica de cuidado intensivo son acordes a lo propuesto en los contenidos programáticos y la legislación. No obstante, se considera que el tiempo de la práctica es muy corto(AU)ABSTRACT

to describe the social representations of the respiratory therapy students from Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina on the clinical practice of intensive care.Methods:
qualitative research work on the social representations where the participating subjects were respiratory therapy students in their fourth semester who answered two semi-structured interviews. The contents analysis was used.Results:
the social representation of students focused on those topics included in the Educational Project, on the practice time which is considered too little, on greater depth on issues related to mechanical ventilation for application in practice.Conclusions:
the themes studied in intensive care practice are consistent with the proposed program content and legislation. However, the amount of time on practice is very little(AU)
