RESUMO

O trânsito e os acidentes dele decorrentes têm-se tornado, mesmo que involuntariamente, tema do cotidiano das pessoas. Entretanto, para caracterizar a realidade pontual de cada região, é necessário conhecer o perfil dos acidentes nela ocorridos, sendo imprescindível que haja registros circunstanciados e abrangentes de todas as ocorrências. Nesta perspectiva, o objetivo geral deste estudo foi subsidiar, com base no perfil epidemiológico, a adoção de ações de intervenção voltadas para a redução dos acidentes de trânsito no Município de Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. E como objetivos específicos analisar as características epidemiológicas dos acidentes de trânsito ocorridos no Município de Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, no período de 2013 a 2014; descrever sua evolução temporal e caracterizar as vítimas desses acidentes, no mesmo período. A pesquisa foi realizada no referido Município, sendo os dados levantados junto à 8ª Delegacia da Polícia Rodoviária Federal e junto ao Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência. Foram considerados todos os acidentes de trânsito ocorridos no período de 2013 e 2014. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado um roteiro estruturado, considerando-se as seguintes variáveis tipo de veículo, tipo de ocorrência, a causa, o traçado das vias, as condições meteorológicas, as fases do dia, o sexo, a faixa etária, veículo e a gravidade. ABSTRACT

Traffic and accidents due to traffic has become, unwittingly, topic in people’s daily. However, to feature the exact reality of each region it is required to know the local accidents profiles, circumstances registers and comprehension of all occurrences are sorely needed. Through this view, the main goal of this research was supporting, based on epidemiological profile, targeted interventions to traffic accidents reduction in Vitória da Conquista City, Bahia. As specific goals To Analyze theepidemiological features of the traffic accidents occurred in Vitória da Conquista City from 2013 to 2014; Describing the time course and characterize the victims of traffic accidents occurred in the city of Vitoria da Conquista, from 2013 to 2014. The survey was conducted in the city, and the data collected by the 8th Precinct Federal Highway Police and by the Mobile Emergency Care Service. Were considered all traffic accidents in 2013 and 2014 period. For data collection was used a structured roadmap considering the following variables type of vehicle, type of occurrence, the cause, the layout of the roads, weather conditions, times of day the, sex, age and gravity, vehicle and gravity.
