Fatores que interferem na escolha do método contraceptivo pelo casal: revisão integrativa / Factors that interfere in the choice of contraceptive method by the couple: an integrative review

RESUMO

Objetivo: identificar o conhecimento produzido na literaturacientífica sobre os fatores determinantes na escolhado método contraceptivo pelo casal. Método: trata-se deuma revisão do tipo integrativa, com leitura de 19 artigoscientíficos no idioma português, indexados nas fontes dedados LILACS, MEDLINE e SCIELO. Resultados: apósanálise dos artigos, foi identificado que o desconhecimentodos métodos contraceptivos influencia diretamente naescolha do casal e que a assistência prestada para a escolhado método está muito aquém das necessidades reais docasal. Conclusão: é necessário que haja a efetividade daspolíticas públicas para implantação da educação continuadasobre técnicas e manejo dos métodos contraceptivos.Só assim o casal poderá escolher, de forma correta, qual omelhor método contraceptivo para a sua realidade.

ABSTRACT

Objective: identify the knowledge produced in thescientific literature on the determinants in the choice ofcontraceptive method by the couple. Method: this is anintegrative type of review, with the reading of 19 scientificarticles in Portuguese in the indexed data sources LILACS,MEDLINE, and SciELO - VHL. Results: after analyzingthe articles, it was observed that the lack of knowledgeon contraceptive methods directly influences the couple'schoice, and that the assistance provided for choice ofmethod is far short of the actual needs of the couple.Conclusion: there is a need for effective public policyto implement continuing education on techniques andmanagement of contraceptive methods, and only so willthe couple be able to correctly choose the best method ofcontraception for their reality.
